Reports To General Manager
Key Responsibilities
Sales Development & Customer Engagement
- Serve as the first point of contact for inbound inquiries via phone, email, and website, qualifying leads and routing them appropriately.
- Identify and cultivate sales opportunities in collaboration with outside sales, manufacturer’s reps, and distributors, especially within multi-location customer accounts.
- Provide technical support and product guidance to customers, reps, and distributors, ensuring a high level of responsiveness and accuracy.
CRM Management & Sales Process Optimization
- Maintain and improve CRM data integrity, workflows, and reporting to support sales strategy and customer engagement.
- Monitor lead progression, pipeline health, and conversion metrics to inform sales tactics and forecasting.
Channel Partner Support
- Act as a liaison to manufacturer’s reps and distributors, managing communications, resolving issues, and supporting joint customer engagements.
- In partnership with marketing and outside sales, coordinate sales enablement efforts including training, documentation, and promotional materials for reps and distributors.
- Calculate and track commissions, ensuring transparency and accuracy in reporting.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with outside sales, marketing, engineering, and operations to ensure seamless customer experience and alignment on sales initiatives.
- Relay customer feedback and technical requirements to product, engineering, and marketing teams to support continuous improvement.
- Market Intelligence & Strategic Planning
- Stay informed on industry trends, competitor offerings, and customer needs to support strategic account planning.
- Assist in territory planning and account mapping to uncover cross-sell and upsell opportunities.
Qualifications:
- Experience in inside sales, technical sales support, or customer service in a B2B environment.
- Demonstrated expertise in CRM platforms (e.g., Salesforce, HubSpot) with a track record of maintaining clean data, optimizing workflows, and generating actionable reports.
- Proficient in Excel for data analysis, reporting, and commission calculations, including use of pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, and basic macros.
- Strong analytical mindset with the ability to interpret sales data, identify trends, and make data-driven recommendations to improve sales performance and customer engagement.
- Meticulous in managing customer records, tracking sales activities, and ensuring accuracy in commission structures, pricing, and documentation.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly convey technical information to both internal teams and external partners.
- Proven ability to build and maintain relationships with customers, manufacturer’s reps, and distributors, while supporting their success through timely and accurate information.
- Capable of managing multiple priorities in a dynamic environment, with strong time management and follow-through.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience working with manufacturers’ reps and distributors.
- Familiarity with industrial, technical, or engineered products.
