Position Title: Development Officer
Salary Range: $40,000 – $50,000
Benefits: Vacation, Sick Days, Retirement, and Medical Insurance
Position Summary: Regionally based to serve as the liaison and proponent for BCHFS to donors, churches, and associations–responsible for identifying and cultivating both new and current investors for the ministry of BCHFS.
The position is a 35.5-hour work week. Evening and weekend work will be occasionally required. The position is eligible for full-time benefits. The position will report to the Director of Development and Marketing.
Position Location: The regional responsibilities will be determined at hire. Frequent travel and occasional overnight stays will be required.
Position Provisions: The position will be provided a vehicle for business use, an agency credit card for business travel and expenses, and a computer.
Position Accountabilities:
- To cultivate church relationships through visits to churches, pastors and Associational Mission Strategists within a particular region.
- To visit individual investors and prospects for the purpose of cultivating new gifts, repeat gifts and planned giving promotion.
- To have a working knowledge of the Baptist Faith and Message of 2000 and the theological underpinnings of the ministries at BCHFS and the doctrinal compliance of those ministries.
- Assist with the creation of promotional videos for web sharing, program marketing and to support fundraising efforts.
- To be personally active in the identification, cultivation and solicitation of new ministry partners while maintaining relationships with current donors and connected churches.
- To utilize the agency donor database for effective donor cultivation, documentation of contacts, and donor/church information updates.
- Contribute articles for the BCHFS newsletter and other marketing materials.
- Assist with planning, set-up and clean-up, coordination and participation in all fundraising events.
- Other duties as assigned by the Director of Development and Marketing.
Position Qualifications:
- Active member of an evangelical church.
- Deep personal commitment to the mission for BCHFS coupled with mature spiritual walk.
- An associate degree is required, a bachelor’s degree in marketing/development, communication, or a related field is preferred.
- Fundraising, sales/marketing, public relations experience preferred.
- Excellent Communication skills both individually and in groups.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Highly self-motivated and organized, able to manage multiple responsibilities.
