The City of Waynesboro Public Works Department seeks individuals for the Utility Worker position.
What You’ll Do:
Perform semi-skilled labor in various maintenance, installation, repair, construction, or related work. Work is revolved around maintaining the City’s infrastructure/ facilities and utilities. This position is vital to keeping the City fully functional. A successful candidate will operate motorized vehicles, and non-specialized equipment, and assist with the maintenance of traffic controls. Specific position duties depend on the department. Positions are available for Sewer, Streets, Water, and Traffic.

Utility Worker II, III, and IV will also be considered if an individual has considerable experience
Minimum Qualifications:

High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent experience.
- Valid Driver’s License

Minimal experience preferred however experience is not required, will train the right candidate.

Physically capable of heavy lifting, stooping, climbing, crawling, and the use of general hand tools and specialized equipment.
The starting salary for a Utility Worker I of 17.03/HR with the potential for pay increases for acquiring additional skills and or/education.
