Desired Qualifications:
- Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) with demonstrable interpreting skills
- Experience working as a Sign Language Interpreter in educational environments
- Eligibility for a California SLP license or the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing (CTC) certification
- Comfort working with a diverse K-12 student population
- Strong communication and collaboration abilities with students, staff, and families
- Adaptability and professionalism in varied classroom settings
Primary Responsibilities:
- Provide real-time sign language interpretation between students, teachers, and peers
- Collaborate with educational teams to support individual student needs
- Facilitate communication for students with a range of disabilities across multiple grade levels
- Maintain confidentiality while fostering inclusivity and equal access
