Job description: PAD Overland, a division of Pro Automotive & Diesel, is seeking an experienced Adventure Van Accessories Technician to join our growing team. This role focuses on the installation of aftermarket and overland components on vans used for travel, recreation, and off-grid applications.
The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with van upfitting, heating systems, electrical systems, and interior components, and takes pride in clean, professional workmanship and strong customer service.
Key Responsibilities:
- Install aftermarket van accessories and overland components
- Install and seal van flares (driver and passenger side)
- Install diesel and gasoline heaters (Velit, Espar, Webasto, or similar)
- Install flooring systems, wall panels, cabinetry, and interior components
- Wire lithium battery systems, DC-DC chargers, inverters, and solar panels
- Install and configure lithium battery systems including Lithionics, Victron, Expion360, and EcoFlow
- Install rooftop tents and slide-in bed campers
- Install overland off-road lights, bumpers, and suspension systems
- Perform 12V and basic 120V electrical wiring
- Read and follow manufacturer installation instructions and wiring diagrams
- Troubleshoot and diagnose electrical or mechanical issues
- Maintain clean, organized, and safe work practices
- Communicate clearly with management regarding job status and challenges
- Provide friendly, professional customer service when interacting with clients
Qualifications / Experience:
- Prior experience in van upfitting, RV, marine, or overland vehicle builds preferred
- Experience installing fuel-fired heaters (diesel or gas) required
- Strong understanding of 12V electrical systems
- Experience with lithium batteries and solar systems strongly preferred (Lithionics, Victron, Expion360, EcoFlow, or similar)
- Experience installing rooftop tents, slide-in campers, off-road lighting, bumpers, and suspension a plus
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Attention to detail and high standards for fit and finish
- Strong customer service and communication skills
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record
Preferred (But Not Required):
- RVIA, marine, or automotive electrical background
- Experience with Sprinter, Transit, or ProMaster vans
- Welding or fabrication experience
- Familiarity with overland or adventure vehicle use
