Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced Electrical Panel Wirer to assemble and wire industrial electrical control panels according to schematics, wiring diagrams, blueprints, and customer specifications. The ideal candidate has strong electrical and mechanical aptitude, understands industrial control components, and can complete accurate, high-quality work in a manufacturing environment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, blueprints, bills of materials, and work instructions.
- Assemble and wire electrical control panels, cabinets, junction boxes, and related equipment.
- Mount electrical components, including terminal blocks, relays, contactors, circuit breakers, transformers, power supplies, switches, and programmable controllers.
- Measure, cut, strip, label, route, terminate, and connect electrical wires and cables.
- Perform point-to-point wiring according to electrical schematics and customer specifications.
- Drill, tap, and modify enclosures or mounting panels as needed.
- Use hand and power tools, including wire strippers, crimpers, drills, screwdrivers, torque tools, and multimeters.
- Inspect completed panels for correct wiring, secure connections, proper labeling, and quality workmanship.
- Perform continuity checks and basic electrical testing to identify wiring or component issues.
- Troubleshoot and correct wiring errors, loose connections, and assembly problems.
- Maintain accurate production, inspection, and testing documentation.
- Follow electrical, quality, safety, and housekeeping requirements.
- Work with engineering, quality, production, and testing teams to resolve technical issues.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required; electrical or technical training is preferred.
- Previous electrical panel wiring, electrical assembly, or industrial control-panel experience preferred.
- Ability to read and understand electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and blueprints.
- Knowledge of electrical components, wire gauges, color codes, terminals, and proper wiring practices.
- Experience using electrical testing equipment and common hand and power tools.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to complete accurate point-to-point wiring.
- Ability to follow written instructions and work independently or as part of a team.
- Basic troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively with supervisors and coworkers.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand, bend, reach, kneel, and work at a production station for extended periods.
- Ability to use hands and fingers for detailed wiring and assembly work.
- Ability to lift and move materials weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to work safely around electrical components, tools, and manufacturing equipment.
Work Environment
This position is performed in a manufacturing environment. Employees may be exposed to moving equipment, electrical components, moderate noise, and other typical production conditions. Required personal protective equipment must be worn at all times.
Pay: $20.00 - $22.00 per hour
