Duties
- Prepare ingredients through slicing, dicing, and portioning according to recipes and menu specifications
- Cook and assemble dishes efficiently while adhering to food safety and sanitation standards
- Operate kitchen equipment such as ovens, fryers, mixers, and food processors safely and effectively
- Follow recipe instructions precisely to ensure consistency and quality in every dish served
- Maintain cleanliness of workstations, utensils, and equipment by performing regular cleaning duties
- Assist with menu planning by providing input on ingredient availability and preparation methods
- Communicate effectively with kitchen staff to coordinate meal preparation and ensure timely service
Qualifications
- Previous experience in food preparation, cooking, or a culinary environment is preferred
- Knowledge of dietary department procedures and dietary aide experience is a plus
- Strong knife skills with proficiency in slicing techniques and food handling safety
- Familiarity with food industry safety standards, including proper sanitation and food safety management practices
- Ability to follow recipes accurately and maintain consistency in meal presentation
- Experience with catering or restaurant operations enhances your suitability for this role
- Excellent communication skills to collaborate seamlessly with kitchen team members
- Demonstrated ability to operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently
