(1) Day A Week (Sunday) - 8:30am - 5:30pm
Other hours as needed for special events, outings, and meetings, which would be no more than 4 hours during the week. (flexible with days) 1:00pm - 5:00pm.
Salary $21.00 per hour

POSITION SUMMARY:
- Provide leadership in assessing, developing and implementing person centered programs to stimulate and enhance the quality of lifefor each individual.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Demonstrate excellent customer service skills by maintaining harmonious relationships and providing timely follow-up with residents, families, visitors, co-workers, volunteers, and all other persons associated with Hartwell Place.
- Develop and implement stimulating social programs to meet individual needs by utilizing variety of programs and best practices; monitors resident responses to them and uses motivational techniques to encourage participation.
- Assists with planning the monthly activity calendar; ensures that there are day and evening activities that span 8 hours daily, 1 or 2 activities per hour.
- Schedules entertainment for various events. Fills out necessary check requests, catering requests as needed.
- Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of the aging process, including dementia and other related conditions, by adapting programs accordingly to meet the functional level of each individual, provides training, support and direction to RA staff to ensure quality ability centered programming that meets each resident’s needs.
- Conduct and assist with individual and group social programs to promote optimal levels of functioning.
- Demonstrate knowledge of each resident’s functional level and provide for safety needs.
- Provide leadership by working with other staff members to ensure individual resident needs are being met through a variety of person-centered programs.
- Create an atmosphere of mutual trust, acceptance and respect with consistent displays of genuineness and caring in dealing with others.
- Consistently promotes dignity and respect by encouraging independence and self-care to the best of each individual’s ability.
- Ensures resident rights are preserved and protected at all times and all residents are free from abuse, neglect, mistreatment and/or misappropriation of property.
- Attend and participate in all required trainings and in-services, including Corporate In-Services, actively participates in assigned committee meetings and carries our functions as designated.
- Attends appropriate meetings, seminars, workshops, professional association meetings to stay current in the field.
- Collaborates with Director to maintain annual departmental budget, purchase and maintains needed supplies and equipment for the Department.
QUALIFICATIONS

- Familiarity with computer, including email and word processing (Microsoft windows 2000 or XP, Excel, Publisher, Power Point)
- Strong customer service skills
- Strong aptitude for written and verbal correspondence
- Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language
EDUCATION, CERTIFICATES, LICENSES & EXPERIENCE
- Minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent. Two years college/trade school with background in Human Services preferred.
- Experience working in a long term care facility or with senior population.
- CPR Certified
- CNA Certification preferred, but not required
