Medical Hill Healthcare is seeking a dependable and enthusiastic Dietary Cook to join our team on a part-time basis. As a Dietary Cook, you'll play an essential role in providing residents with delicious meals that support their health and well-being.
Position Summary
The Dietary Cook is responsible for preparing and serving meals that meet residents' dietary requirements while maintaining the highest standards of food quality, safety, and sanitation. This position works closely with the dietary team to ensure meals are prepared efficiently and served with care.
Responsibilities
Prepare and cook meals according to planned menus, standardized recipes, and therapeutic diet requirements
Ensure food is prepared, portioned, and presented in an appealing manner
Follow all food safety, sanitation, and infection control procedures
Maintain a clean and organized kitchen, equipment, and food preparation areas
Monitor food temperatures and ensure proper storage and handling of food products
Assist with inventory management, stocking supplies, and receiving deliveries
Work collaboratively with dietary staff to ensure timely meal service
Accommodate special dietary needs as directed by the Registered Dietitian and Dietary Manager
Perform additional kitchen duties as assigned
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent preferred
Previous cooking experience in a healthcare, skilled nursing, hospital, or commercial kitchen preferred
Knowledge of therapeutic diets and food safety regulations is a plus
Food Handler Certification (or ability to obtain upon hire)
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
Ability to lift up to 40 pounds and stand for extended periods
