The Role
Get paid to shop on Facebook Marketplace! Haus is hiring a High-End Furniture Buyer to source designer, vintage, and high-quality resale furniture for our apartments across New York City.
You’ll hunt for great pieces on Facebook Marketplace and other resale channels, identify underpriced finds, message sellers, negotiate deals, verify condition and dimensions, and coordinate pickup routes with our logistics team.
This is a role for someone who has great taste, loves interiors, knows the thrill of finding a $2,000 table for $400, and can move fast when the right piece appears.
You’ll help shape the look and feel of Haus apartments while saving the company meaningful money on furniture, decor, and launch costs.

This is not a generic admin job. You’ll be hunting for real pieces that end up in high-end NYC apartments. You’ll learn furniture buying, interiors, hospitality, logistics, and startup operations from the inside.

What You’ll Do
- Source high-quality furniture, lighting, decor, and apartment essentials from Facebook Marketplace and other resale channels
- Plan pickup routes for our logistics team to ensure that all items are picked up and delivered to warehouse
- Identify designer, vintage, and brand-name pieces that fit Haus’s aesthetic and quality standards
- Prepare a buy list every day for our drivers to go and find
- Spot undervalued furniture from brands like CB2, West Elm, Article, Room & Board, Design Within Reach, Restoration Hardware, Crate & Barrel, Blu Dot, EQ3, Hay, Muuto, IKEA, Target, Wayfair, and similar
- Message sellers quickly and professionally
- Negotiate pricing and secure soft holds on strong finds
- Confirm dimensions, condition, brand, pickup timing, elevator/stairs access, and seller reliability
- Request additional photos when needed
- Research retail or replacement value to document savings
- Build pickup routes for Haus’s mover/driver across NYC
- Coordinate seller pickup windows, route priority, payment needs, and backup options
- Maintain a clean sourcing tracker with links, photos, comps, prices, dimensions, location, and notes
- Flag urgent, high-value, or time-sensitive finds for approval
- Help build Haus’s approved brand list, sourcing playbook, forbidden item list, and resale buying system
What We’re Looking For
- Strong eye for interiors, furniture, and design
- You can tell the difference between a great resale find and cheap junk
- Fast, organized, and responsive
- Comfortable negotiating with sellers
- Comfortable using Facebook Marketplace, Google Maps, spreadsheets, screenshots, Slack, and text
- Able to judge furniture quality from photos
- Able to ask the right questions before sending someone to pick up an item
- Familiar with NYC neighborhoods and basic pickup logistics
- Interested in interior design, real estate, hospitality, furniture, startups, or luxury lifestyle brands
- Available 15–25 hours/week to start, with some evening/weekend responsiveness
Nice to Have
- Student or recent graduate from Parsons, Pratt, FIT, NYU, Columbia, Fordham, The New School, CUNY, or similar
- Background or interest in interior design, architecture, hospitality, real estate, merchandising, styling, or operations
- Experience buying or selling on Facebook Marketplace, AptDeco, Kaiyo, Craigslist, Chairish, 1stDibs, estate sales, or vintage/resale platforms
- Knowledge of furniture brands, design periods, vintage pieces, or NYC resale markets
- Experience coordinating deliveries, pickups, or moving routes
Compensation
- $20/hour
- 2% of verified savings, capped at $30 per item (If Haus buys a table for $300 and the approved replacement value is $1,000, verified savings are $700. The bonus is 2% of $700, or $14.)
- Flexible schedule
