Preschool teacher Position
A preschool teacher is responsible for creating and implementing developmentally appropriate lesson plans to educate and care for young children (typically ages 3-5) by teaching basic skills like colors, shapes, numbers, and letters, while also fostering their social, emotional, and motor skills development through play-based learning, all while maintaining a safe and positive classroom environment and communicating regularly with parents regarding their child's progress.
Key responsibilities of a preschool teacher include:
Curriculum development:
· Designing engaging lesson plans aligned with early childhood development standards, incorporating activities like storytelling, singing, arts and crafts, and outdoor play.
Classroom management:
· Maintaining a structured and organized learning environment, supervising children during playtime and transitions, and ensuring safety protocols are followed.
· Child observation and assessment:
· Monitoring each child's individual development, identifying developmental milestones, and documenting progress through observations and assessments.
Social and emotional learning:
· Promoting positive social interactions, teaching conflict resolution skills, and supporting children's emotional well-being.
Parent communication:
· Regularly communicating with parents through conferences, newsletters, and daily updates regarding their child's progress and any concerns.
Basic skills instruction:
· Teaching fundamental concepts like colors, shapes, numbers, letters, basic vocabulary, and simple reading skills.
Motor skills development:
· Providing opportunities for fine motor skills practice (like writing and drawing) and gross motor skills development (like running and jumping).
Individualized learning:
· Adapting activities to meet the needs of each child, including those with special needs, and providing additional support when necessary.
Required skills for a preschool teacher:
· Patience and empathy: Ability to connect with young children, understand their needs, and respond to their emotions.
Creativity and imagination:
· Designing engaging activities and incorporating play-based learning to enhance learning.
Strong communication skills: Effectively interacting with children, parents, and colleagues
Organizational skills:
· Managing classroom routines, schedules, and materials efficiently

Education and Certification:
· Most preschool teaching positions require at least an Associate's degree in Early Childhood Education (ECE) or a related field.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $14.50 - $18.50 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
