Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and dedicated Operating Room Registered Nurse specializing in Orthopedics to join our surgical team. Responsibilities
- Prepare the operating room by ensuring all necessary surgical instruments, equipment, and supplies are sterile, functional, and ready for use during orthopedic procedures.
- Assist surgeons and surgical team members with patient positioning, sterile technique, and instrument handling to facilitate efficient surgeries.
- Monitor patient vital signs, anesthesia levels, and overall condition throughout the procedure, responding swiftly to any changes or emergencies.
- Maintain strict adherence to aseptic techniques and infection control protocols to prevent contamination and ensure patient safety.
- Document all aspects of patient care accurately in electronic health records (EHR/EHR systems), including intraoperative observations, medication administration, and procedural details.
- Provide postoperative care instructions and support to patients and their families, ensuring understanding of recovery processes and follow-up care.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care plans, discharge planning, and case management for orthopedic patients.
Requirements
- Valid RN licensure with current state registration; previous OR experience is highly preferred.
- Demonstrated expertise in aseptic technique, surgical instrumentation, and sterile processing within an operating room setting.
- Experience working with orthopedic procedures such as joint replacements, fracture repairs, or arthroscopic surgeries.
- Knowledge of medical terminology related to musculoskeletal anatomy and physiology
- Strong critical care skills including patient assessment, airway management, IV infusion administration, suturing techniques, and acute pain management.
- Proficiency with electronic health records (EHR/EHR systems) such as Cerner or Epic; ability to document accurately under pressure.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary team environment.

Pay: $37.00 - $47.00 per hour
