We are seeking a Chassis Mechanic to become an essential part of our team. Mobile Trailer Works, Inc is a growing maintenance and repair company servicing chassis, containers and trailers in multiple states. We have been in business for over 30 years. We provide our customers with safe and reliable service. We offer employees a base hourly rate plus profit sharing.
The chassis mechanic will perform mechanical repairs and inspections in a trucking yard environment, using a mobile service truck. You may perform all types of chassis repairs including brakes, welding, repairing and replacing parts on the chassis using standard repair tools. Some minor container repair, patches, door latches and hinges type of work.
Responsibilities:
- Perform FMCSA chassis inspections
- Perform chassis repairs of all types
- Perform light container repairs
- Change tires as necessary
- Use of computer tablet to log work orders, record damage and document repairs
- Follow all safety rules and regulations
Preferred Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent
- At least three years of experience in customary chassis mechanic maintenance and repair methods
- Some experience with minor container repairs
- Ability to work independently without direct supervision
- Basic computer skills and comfortable working on a tablet
- Capable of lifting 50lbs with or without assistance
- Ability to work outdoors for extended periods of time
- Ability to meet deadlines, prioritize workloads and handle multiple tasks
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $30.00 - $40.00 per hour
