Direct Preventive Care is a preventive health and wellness practice that provides vitamin infusions, hydration, and wellness injections in a medical setting. We are looking for a licensed nurse or paramedic who is confident with IV access, enjoys patient interaction, and wants to be part of a calm, professional, patient focused team.
You will be responsible for safely administering IV therapies and injections, monitoring patients, and helping create an excellent experience from check in to check out.
- Start and manage peripheral IV lines for a variety of patients
- Prepare IV bags, medications, and injections according to clinic protocols and provider orders
- Review intake forms, assess basic vital signs, and identify any red flags
- Educate patients on their treatment, possible side effects, and post treatment care
- Monitor patients during infusions and respond promptly to any adverse reactions
- Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation in the electronic medical record
- Follow infection control and safety protocols, including cleaning, stocking rooms, and managing sharps
- Assist providers with wellness consultations or minor procedures as needed
- Participate in ongoing training on new protocols, products, and patient care standards
- Help support a welcoming, professional, and discreet environment for all patients
- Current and unrestricted license as one of the following
- Registered Nurse
- Licensed Practical Nurse
- Paramedic
- Strong IV start skills and comfort with venipuncture
- Current BLS certification
- Experience in one of the following settings is preferred
- Emergency department
- Urgent care
- Critical care
- Infusion center
- IV therapy or wellness clinic
- Confident and gentle with IV placement and injections
- Excellent communication and bedside manner
- Comfortable discussing wellness treatments in a clear and honest way
- Detail oriented with strong documentation habits
- Able to stay calm and professional in urgent situations
- Team player who is willing to help with both clinical and light front office tasks
- Warm, patient centered attitude with a focus on safety and quality of care
- Flexible scheduling, including possible evenings or weekends, depending on clinic hours
