Duties
- Conduct door-to-door canvassing campaigns in designated neighborhoods and community areas using mobile devices to record interactions and data.
- Engage in face-to-face conversations with residents and business owners to promote programs, gather feedback, or solicit support.
- Utilize strong communication skills to explain initiatives clearly and persuasively while maintaining a friendly and professional demeanor.
- Demonstrate excellent customer service by addressing questions, overcoming objections, and building rapport with diverse audiences.
- Work outdoors in various weather conditions, walking extensive distances to reach target areas efficiently.
- Use negotiation techniques to encourage participation or support for organizational goals during interactions.
- Maintain accurate records of daily activities, interactions, and outcomes through mobile devices or paper logs as required.
Experience
- Prior field sales experience or canvassing experience preferred but not required; training will be provided.
- Supervising experience is a plus for candidates interested in leadership opportunities within outreach campaigns.
- Strong marketing background or community engagement experience will enhance your effectiveness in this role.
- Bilingual abilities are highly valued to connect with diverse populations effectively.
- Excellent communication skills—both verbal and active listening—are essential for successful face-to-face engagement.
- Experience with outdoor work environments and walking as a transportation method is beneficial.
- Familiarity with telemarketing or fundraising activities can be advantageous but is not mandatory; enthusiasm for community involvement is key.
