The Production Lead has the responsibility to train employees to defined departmental standards, job routings, departmental best practices and company policies. This is a working position and machine operation is required.

Organizational Relationships and Authority
The Production Lead reports directly to the Production Supervisor. There are no direct reports associated with this position. The Production Lead will have the authority to direct work of others whenever the Production Supervisor is not present in the department. They will also have the authority and responsibility to temporarily stop and correct a safety or manufacturing-related concern.
The primary responsibility of the Production Lead is to prepare employees to perform work expertly. Additional responsibilities include:
- Provides comprehensive instruction in the operation of all manufacturing equipment within the department.
- Collaborates to ensure training documents reflect current state processes
- Receives factory training on all new equipment and technologies
- Assesses and records employees skills according to established standards
- Assists in developing assessment tools
- Monitors and communicates employee progress with supervisors and Training Manager
- Maintains expert knowledge of all equipment within the department/area of focus
- Collaborates to effectively solve departmental problems related to machines, tools, staff, materials, processes and systems

- Minimum high school diploma or GED and three to five years related experience and/or training.
Minimum of three years of experience within a manufacturing environment is required, preferably in metal fabrication or related industry. 2 Years or more experience running Press Brake Machines is preferred
