Responsibilities
- Greet guests warmly upon arrival and assist with seating arrangements using reservation systems like OpenTable or similar platforms.
- Take accurate orders using POS systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS, ensuring all special requests and dietary needs are clearly communicated.
- Provide detailed menu descriptions, recommend popular dishes or drinks, and upsell items to enhance guest satisfaction and increase sales.
- Serve food and beverages efficiently while maintaining a high standard of food handling, sanitation, and safety protocols.
- Manage multiple tables by prioritizing tasks effectively with excellent time management skills to ensure prompt service.
- Clear tables promptly after guests leave, bus tables as needed, and maintain cleanliness in dining areas to uphold sanitation standards.
- Handle cash transactions accurately through POS systems, process payments securely, and provide correct change or receipts.
- Engage with guests to foster positive relations, address concerns professionally, and ensure a memorable dining experience.
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to coordinate timely food delivery and resolve any service issues swiftly.
- Assist with opening or closing duties as required, including setup, cleaning, and restocking supplies.
Experience
- Previous restaurant experience is preferred, especially in fine dining or upscale environments where attention to detail is essential.
- Proven customer service skills with the ability to connect with diverse guests in a fast-paced setting.
- Familiarity with POS systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS; experience with OpenTable is a plus.
- Knowledge of food safety standards and proper food handling procedures to ensure guest safety.
- Experience in upselling techniques to maximize sales opportunities while enhancing guest satisfaction.
- Ability to manage time effectively during busy shifts by multitasking across serving, bussing, and guest relations duties.
- Basic math skills for cash handling and bill splitting; experience with cashiering is advantageous.
