ResponsibilitiesJoin our dynamic pediatric dental team as a Registered Pediatric Dental Assistant and become a vital part of creating healthy, confident smiles for children in a safe, comfortable, kid friendly environmnent in a fee-for-service, private pediatric dental office! You will provide exceptional chairside assistance, ensuring a smooth and positive experience for young patients and their families. Your expertise will support a wide range of dental procedures, from routine visits to operative treatments, all while maintaining the highest standards of infection control and patient safety. This position offers a rewarding opportunity to make a meaningful difference in children’s oral health while working in a friendly, team-oriented environment. Responsibilities
- Assist pediatric dentists during various dental procedures, including exams, restorative treatments, and sedations using four-handed dentistry techniques to optimize efficiency.
- Assist hygienists with xrays and cleanings and pre-charting
- Prepare treatment rooms with the necessary instruments, materials, and supplies, ensuring OSHA rules are strictly followed.
- Take digital dental radiographs (X-rays) on all ages while adhering to HIPAA regulations and safety protocols.
- Manage patient records by accurately documenting medical history, vital signs, tooth charting, and treatment notes using Dentrix Ascend
- Educate patients and their parents about oral hygiene, preventive care, nutrition, and post-treatment instructions in a friendly and understandable manner. Also educate children in area schools and preschools during school presentations.
- Maintain infection control standards by sterilizing instruments, disinfecting treatment areas, and following established protocols
- Support administrative tasks such as pre-scheduling recare appointments and entering any needed treatment plans
Skills
- Proficiency in dental assisting is essential.
- Strong knowledge of dental terminology
- Experience with tooth charting on a computer
- Ability to take diagnostic xrays on children of all ages
- Familiarity with infection control procedures and OSHA guidelines
- Excellent and friendly communication skills to establish relationships with patient families and team members
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations to maintain confidentiality of patient information at all times.
- Comfortable with working with children with special needs
Pay: $17.00 - $22.00 per hour
