Moore Water & Air is looking for an experienced Water Heater Plumber / Sales Technician to join our growing team.
As Lowe’s professional water heater installation partner, we receive a steady flow of leads from homeowners who need water heater replacements. Our technicians visit the home, assess the project, recommend the correct solution, sell the job, and complete the installation.
This is a hybrid plumbing and sales position. The technician is responsible for the entire customer experience—from the initial in-home assessment through the completed installation.
This is not a position where one person sells the job and another person performs the work. You will sell the work that you personally complete.
What You’ll Do
- Visit Lowe’s customers who have requested a water heater assessment
- Inspect the existing water heater and evaluate the complete installation
- Identify plumbing, venting, gas, electrical, expansion tank, drainage, permitting, and code requirements
- Recommend the correct water heater and installation solution
- Clearly explain the scope of work, available options, and pricing to the homeowner
- Sell the water heater replacement during the in-home visit
- Schedule or begin the installation according to company procedures
- Personally complete the work you sell
- Remove the existing water heater and professionally install the replacement
- Complete any approved plumbing modifications or code-related upgrades
- Test the system and ensure the installation is operating properly
- Review the completed work and equipment operation with the customer
- Collect required signatures, payments, photographs, and job documentation
- Maintain a clean work area and protect the customer’s home
- Occasionally assist with water treatment installations or service calls as needed
What We’re Looking For
- Professional water heater installation experience is required
- Strong knowledge of gas and electric water heaters
- Ability to accurately assess and price water heater replacement projects
- Ability to perform the plumbing work associated with the projects you sell
- Plumbing license or certification as required by state and local regulations
- Knowledge of applicable plumbing, gas, venting, and safety codes
- Strong communication and customer-service skills
- Comfortable presenting options, discussing pricing, and asking for the sale
- Ability to build trust with homeowners and explain technical information clearly
- Professional appearance and dependable work habits
- Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record
- Ability to pass a background check
- Ability to safely lift and maneuver water heaters and related equipment
- Water treatment installation or service experience is helpful but not required
