Responsibilities
- Assist with food handling, serving, and supporting kitchen staff to ensure timely and efficient service.
- Maintain cleanliness throughout the restaurant by cleaning tables, floors, and kitchen areas in accordance with health and safety standards.
- Buss tables promptly after guests leave, ensuring a tidy dining space for incoming customers.
- Support manual handling tasks such as heavy lifting of supplies, equipment, or food items using safe lifting practices.
- Help with catering setups and breakdowns for special events or large parties hosted at the cafe.
- Communicate effectively with team members and customers to ensure a smooth dining experience.
- Follow proper food safety procedures and handle food products responsibly in line with industry standards.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in food service, restaurant work, or hospitality is preferred but not required; enthusiasm and willingness to learn are essential.
- Ability to perform manual handling tasks including heavy lifting while adhering to safe lifting practices.
- Strong communication skills to interact positively with customers and team members.
- Knowledge of cleaning protocols, bussing procedures, and food handling safety standards.
- Experience in catering or hotel environments is a plus but not mandatory; training will be provided.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced setting while maintaining attention to detail.
- A proactive attitude towards maintaining cleanliness, supporting food service operations, and providing excellent customer service.
