Resilience Coach
Location: San Diego, CA
Company: IHT Factor
Position: Resilience Coach
Employment Type: Part-Time /Full-Time Coaching Role
About IHT Factor
IHT Factor is redefining the way people train by bringing Intermittent Hypoxic Training (IHT) into a high-energy, performance-focused studio environment. https://www.ihtfactor.com/
By training in reduced-oxygen conditions, our members experience an added physiological challenge while completing strength, conditioning, and recovery-focused sessions. But what we build goes beyond physical fitness.
At IHT Factor, we train resilience.
Our coaches are responsible for creating an environment where members feel challenged, supported, motivated, and capable of pushing beyond what they thought possible.
The Role
We are looking for an energetic, knowledgeable, and people-focused Resilience Coach to join the IHT Factor team.
This is more than leading a workout.
As a Resilience Coach, you will guide members through IHT Factor's training methodology while helping them safely navigate the unique demands of exercising in a hypoxic environment. You'll coach individuals of varying fitness levels, create an engaging group-training experience, and help members develop greater strength, conditioning, confidence, and resilience.
What You'll Do
- Lead high-energy group training sessions using IHT Factor's programming and coaching methodology.
- Coach members through strength, conditioning, HIIT, and functional training movements.
- Educate members on the purpose and experience of Intermittent Hypoxic Training and training in reduced-oxygen conditions.
- Monitor members throughout sessions and modify exercises or intensity based on individual ability and response.
- Provide clear instruction, movement demonstrations, corrections, and encouragement.
- Create an inclusive environment where both experienced athletes and newer members feel comfortable being challenged.
- Build genuine relationships with members and contribute to the community that makes IHT Factor different.
- Help members understand that progress isn't only about performance, it's about developing the ability to adapt, recover, and keep going.
- Maintain a clean, organized, professional, and safe training environment.
- Represent IHT Factor's brand, culture, and standards both inside and outside the studio.
- Participate in team training, continuing education, events, and community initiatives as needed.
What We're Looking For
We're looking for someone who can coach people, not just workouts.
The ideal candidate is:
- Energetic, confident, and comfortable leading groups.
- Personable and able to connect with a wide range of personalities and fitness levels.
- Passionate about fitness, performance, health, and helping people become stronger.
- Able to motivate without intimidating and challenge without losing sight of safety.
- Comfortable learning the science and application of intermittent hypoxic training.
- Reliable, professional, coachable, and team-oriented.
- Able to adapt quickly in a fast-paced training environment.
- Committed to creating an exceptional member experience.
Qualifications
- Current nationally recognized Personal Training or Group Fitness certification preferred.
- CPR/AED certification required or ability to obtain prior to coaching independently.
- Previous personal training, group fitness, strength and conditioning, or athletic coaching experience preferred.
- Experience coaching HIIT, strength training, functional fitness, or performance-based programming is a plus.
- Prior experience with hypoxic or altitude training is not required; IHT Factor will provide training on our environment, methodology, and coaching expectations.
What Makes an IHT Coach Different
At IHT Factor, a coach isn't simply counting reps or running a class.
You're teaching someone how to perform when conditions become uncomfortable.
You're helping them recognize what they're capable of.
You're building resilience....one session at a time.
If you're passionate about coaching, thrive on bringing energy into a room, and want to be part of a training concept that goes beyond the traditional gym experience, we'd love to hear from you.
