- Position Overview Immediate full-time position available for a Survey Office Tech/CAD Tech (Land Surveying). Position is also open to a Junior CAD Tech, Senior CAD Tech, SIT (Surveyor in Training). You will be responsible for coordinating directly with field crews and Project Management/PSMs (Professional Surveyors & Mappers) to resolve discrepancies along with general responsibilities listed below in ad. The successful candidate will work in our Orlando, Florida office supporting design projects throughout the state of Florida. Hybrid Flexibility: Flexible hours are an option after onboarding/training. Ideal candidate will be provided mentorship toward PSM licensure.
General Responsibilities
- Draft boundary, topographic, ALTA/NSPS, construction, and final record/as-built surveys.
- Process raw field data (GPS, Total Station, Level runs) and manage point databases.
- Perform boundary calculations, legal description research, and plat review.
Typical Projects
- Collection system inspections, condition assessment and rehabilitation;
- Design of water, wastewater and reclaimed water pipelines;
- Wastewater pump station rehabilitations and upgrades;
- Water and wastewater treatment process design and modifications;
- Potable and reclaimed water storage and pumping facilities design;
- Groundwater wells, rehabilitation of existing wells, and well abandonment.
Minimum Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent, CAD training and certifications.
- Minimum of one (1) year of experience in the office.
- CAD Software: Working knowledge and experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D (essential), MicroStation/FDOT Connect (huge plus in FL for transportation work), or Carlson Survey.
- Data Processing: Trimble Business Center (TBC), or Topcon Magnet.
- Certifications: CST (Certified Survey Technician -Level I, II, or III) or SIT track.
- Education: Associate or bachelor’s degree in Geomatics/Surveying Technology (or equivalent hands-on office experience).
- General construction knowledge along with ability to read and interpret construction drawings desired. Mechanical aptitude with ability to complete basic mathematical calculations required.
- Problem solving, organizational and PC skills are required.
- Detail oriented, self-motivated, professional attitude, good communication skills, and a team player.
