Job Overview
This position requires someone who has woodworking experience and can accurately identify different wood species and accurately read a tape measure.
In this position, the individual would be cross trained to learn the various positions within the Rough Mill which include operation of a Rip Saw, set up and operation of a jointer and glueing panels, operation of a edge bander and previous experience with a CNC or Moulder. In this role, the individual will be trained on the various equipment within our Rough Mill so they are able to fill in as needed for when individual are on vacation or call in sick.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1. Operation of a Rip Saw
2. Operate the saw and joiner
3. Operation of the edgebander
4. Operation of a CNC and/or moulder
5. Forklift Experience
6. Keep area in a neat and orderly manner at all times.
7. Ability to operate or learn various other equipment in the Rough Mill
8. Regular and consistent attendance required.
9.. Knowledge of wood species and accurately be able to read a tape measure.
10. Adheres to all company safety policies, written program procedures
and standards at all times.
11. Adhere to all SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures) and Quality Standards
12. Fast paced work environment focused on accuracy and quality.
Skills
- Strong attention to detail with a focus on quality craftsmanship.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Willing to cross train and float where assistance is needed with other positions within the rough mill.
- Able to stand/walk during work shift
- Able to read customer orders
- Excellent Communication skills
- Previous woodworking and saw experience required.
- This is a first shift position with hours of M-Th from 6:00 am - 4:30 pm with overtime as required. (Four day work week!)
