Duties
- Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing dental instruments and ensuring all equipment is ready for procedures in accordance with dental sterilization procedures and infection prevention management policies
- Assist dentists during a variety of dental procedures including general dentistry, pediatric dentistry, oral surgery, endodontics, prosthodontics, and other specialties by providing chairside support and managing dental instruments efficiently
- Take and develop dental X-rays using digital imaging technology such as dental x-ray machines and 3D scanners while maintaining strict adherence to HIPAA regulations and clinical confidentiality policies
- Manage patient records accurately within electronic health record (EHR) systems like Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or Epic; document medical history, vital signs, treatment notes, and medical coding with precision
- Educate patients on oral hygiene practices, post-treatment care instructions, and answer questions about procedures while demonstrating excellent communication skills
- Support the dental reception process by scheduling appointments, verifying insurance information, and assisting with patient check-in/out procedures as a competent dental receptionist
- Follow strict infection prevention protocols including aseptic technique and dental instrument processing to ensure a safe environment for patients and staff
Experience
- Prior experience working in a dental clinic or healthcare setting is required
- Proficiency with Open Dental
- Knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, medical terminology, and clinical confidentiality policies is required to ensure accurate communication and record keeping
- Hands-on experience with dental x-ray techniques, medical imaging tools including 3D scanners, and pediatric dentistry procedures will be advantageous
- Familiarity with infection control standards, dental sterilization procedures, and healthcare infection prevention practices is necessary to maintain a safe clinical environment
- Demonstrated ability to perform chairside assisting in general dentistry or specialized fields such as endodontics or prosthodontics is highly valued
- Strong organizational skills combined with excellent communication abilities will help you thrive in this fast-paced role dedicated to delivering top-quality patient care
Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour
