Position overview
The CNC Lathe Operator is responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining CNC turning equipment to produce precision metal and plastic components to tight tolerances. This role requires a solid foundation in CNC turning with the ability to read technical drawings and perform in-process inspection.
Responsibilities
- Set up and operate CNC lathe machines per work order requirements
- Read and interpret blueprints, GD&T, and CAD drawings
- Select appropriate tooling and set cutting parameters
- Perform in-process inspection using precision measuring instruments (micrometers, calipers, gauges)
- Make offsets and adjustments to maintain tolerances throughout production runs
- Document production activity and complete inspection records
- Maintain a clean, organized work area and follow all safety protocols
- Communicate proactively with leads and quality team
Requirements
- 2–5 years of CNC lathe operation and setup experience
- Proficiency with Fanuc or Haas CNC controls preferred
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and GD&T
- Experience with precision measurement tools
- Familiarity with metals and plastics used in precision manufacturing
- Strong attention to detail and quality mindset
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
- High school diploma or equivalent; vocational/technical training a plus

Pay: $22.50 - $36.00 per hour
