Job Overview
We are seeking a motivated Press Brake - Folding Machine Operator to join our dynamic manufacturing team. In this role, you will operate and set up press brake machines to bend and shape sheet metal with precision, ensuring all fabricated parts meet strict quality standards. Your expertise will contribute to the production of high-quality metal components for a variety of signage and structural projects.
Duties
- Set up and operate press brake machines for bending sheet metal according to technical drawings and specifications
- Interpret mechanical blueprints, technical drawings, and shop math to determine proper machine setup and operation
- Measure finished parts using calipers, micrometers, and other precision measuring instruments to ensure accuracy
- Adjust machine settings to achieve desired angles, dimensions, and tolerances in accordance with safety standards in production
- Perform routine maintenance on forming machines and troubleshoot mechanical issues promptly
- Collaborate with team members on fabrication projects involving sheet metal forming, welding, and assembly
- Follow safety protocols diligently while operating heavy machinery such as cranes, stamping presses, CNC machines, and other fabrication tools
Skills
- Proven experience operating press brake machines with a strong understanding of forming processes
- Ability to interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and mechanical schematics accurately
- Skilled in measuring parts with calipers, micrometers, and other precision instruments for quality control
- Mechanical knowledge of forming machines, CNC laser cutting, CNC programming, and other machining tools
- Familiarity with safety standards related to machine operation and metal fabrication environments
- Basic shop math skills necessary for precise measurement and calculations in manufacturing processes
- Experience with welding, sheet metal fabrication, tooling setup, and assembly is a plus
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high standards of quality and safety
