Overview
We are seeking a full time, dedicated and skilled Maintenance Person to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in hotel maintenance and a passion for ensuring that all aspects of our property run smoothly. This role requires a proactive individual who can perform various maintenance tasks, including electrical work, patching, painting, and plumbing, while providing excellent customer service.
The maintenance engineer works under the direction of the General Manager. His or her responsibilities include daily checklist duties, less frequently performed duties, guest service & satisfaction, & individual effectiveness.
Primary Responsibilities
- Perform highly diversified duties to repair/replace items as needed
- Perform periodic inspections or guest rooms and property
- Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.
- Diagnose problems, test and replace or repair parts
- Perform regular preventive kitchen maintenance
- Perform a variety of plumbing maintenance and carpentry functions.
- Use a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters
- Detect faulty operations, defective material and report those and any unusual situations to management.
- Comply with safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work areas.
- Perform all other duties as assigned or needed.
Education/Experience
- High school diploma/ GED required
- Knowledge of the following basic maintenance skills:
- Operation of HVAC units.
- Operation of water cutoffs in each room & main water cutoff for the hotel.
- Operation of the circuit breaker in each room.
- Operation of the hot water heater (drain & pilot lighting)
- Knowledge of how to program, repair, & replace electronic door lock
- Knowledge of basic mechanical, landscaping, & carpentry skills
- Knowledge of the safety & security rules & procedures for the hotel
Physical Requirements
- Standing and walking throughout shift (approximately 5 hours)
- Bending, stooping, kneeling
- Lifting approximately 50-75lbs frequently
