Job description
We are a leading home décor company looking for a full-time TALENTED and EXPERIENCED Product Development and Sourcing Manager to join our team and support the product development process. PD Manager will be responsible for the development of new softline products from initial trend concepts to launch of sellable samples. Must be well versed in the sourcing and production capabilities of various Asian countries.
Ideal candidate will possess the following professional skills and have prior experience:
· Ability to handle a swatch and imagine its finished product with intricate embroideries, appliques, prints, or construction.
· Capable of quick visual concept mock ups using fabric, trims, or Photoshop.
· Imagination and visualization are keys to success in this role!
· Genuinely passionate about home textile products; have a discerning eye for current home color and style trends. Demonstrate capability of deciphering the difference between trends and fads and translating them to meet the needs of various mass retail partners.
· Identify key upcoming trends and generate new, relevant, marketable product development ideas, present them to management, work with domestic and overseas factories to turn ideas into products.
· Demonstrate creative sourcing skills domestically and from various Asian countries such as China, India, Vietnam.
· Capable of merchandising pillows, throws, tabletop, pet textiles and other home textiles in a tasteful manner for mass market consumers. Stage samples for internal reviews.
· Working knowledge of various textile weaves, prints, embroideries, appliques, dyes, finishes and sewing, pattern making, fabric cutting, sewing processes.
· Abreast of new industry technologies, techniques, materials, and advancements.
Good to know
Work from office M-F, be available during US evening hours for occasional quick overseas correspondence. Some domestic and overseas travel as needed.
