Salary: $137,891 – $154,438.20 Annually | Exempt
The Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) – Psychiatric Certified is responsible for providing comprehensive psychiatric, substance use disorder, and medication management services to individuals diagnosed with Opioid Use Disorder (OUD) and Alcohol Use Disorder (AUD) enrolled in the Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT) Program. This position serves as a client advocate, promoting culturally responsive, respectful, and recovery-oriented care.
The APRN conducts assessments, develops treatment plans, prescribes and manages medications, and provides ongoing follow-up care to support positive treatment outcomes. The incumbent is responsible for safeguarding client rights, maintaining confidentiality, and promptly reporting any suspected abuse, neglect, or safety concerns in accordance with organizational policies and applicable regulations. Work is performed under established clinical protocols and the supervision of the Medical Director of Addictions.
- Master's or Doctoral degree in Nursing from an accredited institution required.
- Current Florida licensure as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) required.
- Psychiatric-Mental Health certification required.
- Experience in Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT), including prescribing and managing Buprenorphine, Methadone, and Vivitrol (Naltrexone), preferred.
- Experience working with substance use disorders, behavioral health, or community-based treatment services preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, patient engagement, and clinical assessment skills.
- Knowledge of applicable federal, state, and professional regulations governing APRN practice.
- Conduct timely and comprehensive psychiatric, medical, and substance use disorder evaluations to determine appropriate treatment needs.
- Develop, implement, and monitor individualized treatment plans.
- Prescribe, administer, and manage medications in accordance with current evidence-based practices and applicable regulations.
- Provide ongoing medication management and follow-up care to support patient recovery and treatment adherence.
- Complete accurate and timely documentation in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) within two (2) calendar days of service delivery and in accordance with organizational policies and regulatory standards.
- Meet departmental productivity standards, including a minimum of 1,350 worked units annually and 112.5 worked units monthly.
- Utilize telehealth technology to provide remote clinical services when appropriate and clinically indicated.
- Collaborate with supervising physicians to develop and maintain APRN protocols consistent with the Florida Nurse Practice Act, Florida Administrative Code, and applicable Board of Nursing requirements.
- Order ancillary testing, diagnostic procedures, and specialty referrals as clinically indicated.
- Provide patient and family education regarding diagnoses, treatment options, medications, recovery, relapse prevention, and wellness strategies.
- Maintain accurate, complete, and confidential medical records in accordance with Meridian policies and professional standards.
- Promote a collaborative, team-based approach to patient care through effective working relationships with physicians, nurses, therapists, case managers, and support staff.
- Participate in continuing education and professional development activities to maintain and enhance clinical competency.
- Support infection prevention and control activities and ensure compliance with established safety policies and procedures.
- Build and maintain relationships with community agencies and resources to support patient care and recovery.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support program, departmental, and organizational objectives.
