The 2nd Shift Supervisor is responsible for overseeing all core manufacturing operations during the 2nd shift, ensuring production targets, quality standards, and safety requirements are consistently met. This role is responsible for coaching the employees to produce the highest quality finished products at the lowest possible manufacturing cost.
Essential Duties, Tasks, and Responsibilities:
- Supervises and coordinates production, maintaining quality product, economical manufacturing costs, and production schedules.
- Direct and coordinate the activities of employees engaged in production according to production hours, material, workflow, employee skill utilization, and inventory control.
- Read and analyze manufacturing processes, production schedules, and other records and reports to determine production requirements and to evaluate the current production estimates.
- Coordinate with first shift and planning teams to ensure smooth shift transitions.
- Adjust staffing and workflow to address bottlenecks or production issues.
- Perform corrective action when needed.
- Enforce safety procedures and guidelines.
- Perform quality checks to ensure the product meets the customers’ expectations.
- Conduct employee performance reviews for probationary and non-probationary employees.
- Handle complaints, settle disputes, and resolve conflicts and grievances with subordinates.
- Complete all necessary paperwork on a daily, weekly, and yearly basis.
- Other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:
· Must be reliable, responsible, and dependable in fulfilling obligations.
· Must have a high degree of mechanical aptitude.
· Must exhibit strong emotional intelligence and remain level-headed during high-pressure scenarios
· Ability to delegate duties and tasks.
· Ability to communicate clearly, providing direct and informative information to employees and other supervisors.
· Knowledge of business and management principles.
Other requirements:
· Must possess a high school diploma or general high school equivalent degree.
· Three to five years of Supervisory experience in manufacturing or a related field.
· A bachelor's degree in business or a related field is preferred.
Physical Requirements:
In this position, the employee will be required to move among the facility, speaking and listening to employees and co-workers. The employee will frequently be required to use their eyes and hands to check for quality by holding and touching the product. In addition, the employee will frequently be required to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl when performing their job duties. The employee frequently will be required to lift objects up to 50 pounds and occasionally reach above their shoulders.
Individuals in this position will be required to stand on their feet for a majority of the day.
Work Schedule: Monday through Thursday; Fridays may be required depending on workload.
Pay: $60,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
