Duties
- Perform thorough patient assessments, including medical and dental history reviews, oral examinations, and diagnostic imaging using advanced tools such as digital X-rays and 3D imaging technology.
- Diagnose dental conditions accurately by applying your knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and medical terminology to develop effective treatment plans.
- Deliver a wide range of general dentistry services including dental restorations, root canal therapy, dental extractions, prosthodontics, orthodontics, and oral surgery procedures.
- Conduct pediatric dentistry treatments with sensitivity and expertise for young patients requiring specialized care in pediatrics or pediatric dentistry.
- Utilize electronic health record systems such as Epic, Eaglesoft, Dentrix to document patient encounters meticulously while adhering to HIPAA regulations and state healthcare laws.
- Maintain strict infection control protocols using aseptic techniques and adhere to OSHA standards to ensure a safe clinical environment.
- Collaborate with team members in four-handed dentistry practices to optimize efficiency and patient comfort during procedures.
- Communicate clearly with patients about treatment options, post-operative care instructions, and preventive strategies to promote long-term oral health.
- Manage dental fabrication processes including crowns, bridges, implants, and other prosthetic devices with precision.
- Stay updated on the latest advancements in dental technology and techniques through ongoing education and training.
Skills
- Proficiency with practice management software such as Epic, Eaglesoft, Dentrix for scheduling, documentation, and billing purposes.
- Strong knowledge of dental diagnosis procedures combined with the ability to interpret medical imaging accurately.
- Expertise in various dental specialties including endodontics (root canals), prosthodontics (crowns & bridges), orthodontics (braces), oral surgery (extractions & implants), and pediatric dentistry.
- Excellent client communication skills to explain complex treatment plans clearly and empathetically.
- Deep understanding of infection control procedures, aseptic techniques, and OSHA standards to ensure patient safety.
- Ability to perform dental procedures efficiently while maintaining high standards of quality care within a fast-paced environment.
- Familiarity with medical records management ensuring compliance with HIPAA and other healthcare regulations.
- Knowledge of anatomy relevant to oral surgery and implant placement enhances procedural success.
- Experience working in busy dental clinics or offices that prioritize patient care excellence is highly desirable.
