Duties
- Monitor and care for pets in boarding, daycare, and outdoor play areas, ensuring their safety and happiness
- Assist with feeding, administering medications, and cleaning kennels to maintain a hygienic environment
- Handle animals with care using proper restraint techniques and animal handling skills to ensure safety for pets and staff
- Maintain cleanliness of pet care facilities through sanitization, waste disposal, and equipment cleaning
- Provide excellent customer service by communicating with pet owners about their pets’ needs and well-being
- Assist with outdoor activities including walking dogs, supervising playtime, and ensuring outdoor work safety protocols are followed
Skills
- Prior veterinary experience or veterinary technician background is highly valued
- Experience in pet sitting or pet boarding environments demonstrating responsibility and animal care expertise
- Knowledge of dog training techniques and animal behavior understanding to promote positive interactions
- Kennel experience combined with animal restraint and handling skills for safe pet management
- Ability to perform heavy lifting and team lifting when moving supplies or large animals safely
- Strong customer service skills to communicate effectively with pet owners and team members
- Proficiency in sanitation practices, and facility sanitization procedures to uphold health standards
- Outdoor work experience that demonstrates comfort working outside in various weather conditions
- Familiarity with animal care protocols including pet feeding, medication administration, and behavior management
Availability/Hours offered:
This is a position for our after hours operations. We are looking for individuals who can work split shifts and short spurts of time. More specifically on holidays, weekends, and evenings; at 2-3 hour intervals. More details about hours needed will be discussed. This is not an "On-call" position, but more of a PRN placement.
