New England Transit Sales, Inc., a full-service transportation vehicle dealership serving all of New England seeks a detail-oriented Accounting & Leasing Administrator to join our dynamic team. In this collaborative role you’ll support our subsidiary's accounting functions and our leasing affiliate’s accounting & administrative operations. The ideal candidate is organized, dependable and comfortable working independently managing financial transactions as well as leasing contracts and compliance documentation.
Job Overview
In this vital role, you will manage a wide range of accounting functions, including lease administration, financial data entry, deal processing, invoice finalizing, apply customer payments, process vendor payments and general ledger & bank reconciliation. Your expertise will ensure accurate financial reporting, compliance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles), and efficient handling of confidential information. Responsibilities
- Manage lease administration processes, including tracking lease agreements, rent payments, and renewal schedules.
- Perform detailed data entry and maintain accurate records within accounting software such as QuickBooks.
- Reconcile accounts payable and accounts receivable to ensure timely processing and accuracy.
- Prepare journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, and general ledger adjustments in compliance with GAAP standards.
- Support month-end and year-end closing activities by reviewing financial statements and ensuring accuracy across all accounts.
- Handle confidential financial information with integrity while maintaining strict data security protocols.
Experience
- Proven experience in corporate accounting environments with a solid understanding of financial concepts such as debits & credits, double-entry bookkeeping, and account reconciliation.
- Familiarity with Dealer Management Systems like Karmak is a plus.
- Hands-on experience with financial software including QuickBooks is a must.
- Demonstrated ability to perform detailed account reconciliation, balance sheet review, and journal entry preparation accurately under tight deadlines.
- Excellent numeracy skills combined with proficiency in Microsoft Office applications—especially Excel—for data analysis and reporting purposes.
- Previous experience in a dealership & leasing environment is a plus.
