Job Summary
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Waterjet Machine Operator to join our manufacturing team. In this role, you will operate and maintain waterjet cutting equipment to produce precise components according to technical specifications. Your expertise in CNC programming, blueprint reading, and mechanical knowledge will ensure the highest quality standards are met. Duties
- Set up and operate waterjet cutting machines, ensuring accurate calibration and alignment for each project
- Interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and production documents to determine cutting parameters and material requirements
- Program waterjet machines using CAD (Computer-Aided Design) files and CAM (Computer-Aided Manufacturing) software to optimize cutting paths
- Perform routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and adjustments on industrial equipment to maintain optimal performance
- Measure finished parts using precision instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) standards to verify dimensional accuracy
- Handle materials safely using appropriate tools and materials handling techniques; operate forklifts when necessary
- Maintain detailed records of production runs, machine settings, and quality control inspections in compliance with safety standards
Requirements
- Proven experience operating waterjet cutting machines or similar CNC equipment in a manufacturing or fabrication setting
- Strong knowledge of CNC programming, CAD design, CAM programming, and blueprint reading
- Familiarity with industrial equipment troubleshooting and mechanical blueprint interpretation
- Ability to use precision measurement tools such as calipers, micrometers, dial indicators, and shop math for quality assurance
- Mechanical knowledge of fabrication processes including stamping presses, CNC milling machines, CNC lathes, press brake machines, and CNC programming skills are highly desirable
- Experience with safety standards in production environments and adherence to workplace safety protocols
- Valid forklift certification or ability to obtain one; experience with materials handling is preferred
- Excellent attention to detail with strong problem-solving skills; capable of interpreting technical drawings accurately
- Prior factory or manufacturing facility experience is a plus; familiarity with packaging and assembly line processes is beneficial
