- Grow Manufacturing and Process Engineers and Technicians through coaching, regular 1:1s, and lifecycle mentorship.
- Translate business and customer requirements into clear technical priorities.
- Balance timelines and resources across departments; resolve conflicts with transparency and fairness.
- Own process design, optimization, automation, and standardization for machining, assembly, and secondary ops.
- Run hands-on CI focused on safety, quality, delivery, productivity, and cost.
- Apply structured problem-solving methods to complex production and engineering issues.
- Institutionalize standard work, visual management, and data-driven decision making.
- Define and monitor 5–8 KPIs aligned to strategic goals.
- Audit and approve job routers—operation steps, resources, standards, and outside services—before release.
- Team with Operations, Quality, Supply Chain, and Sales to hit daily commitments and plan for growth.
- Lead capital planning, equipment selection, install, validation, and commissioning.
- Enable NPI and process introductions via DFMEA, PFMEA, PPAP, and robust control plans.
- Ensure engineering changes are controlled and consistently executed.
- Serve as the site’s technical escalation point and manufacturing SME.
- Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, regulatory, and QMS requirements.
- Provide support to off-shift and weekend operations when needed.
- 8+ years in manufacturing or process engineering within a precision manufacturing environment.
- 4+ years managing or leading engineering teams.
- Strong foundation in precision CNC manufacturing.
- Expert CAD/CAM skills with Autodesk, SolidWorks, and Mastercam.
- PLC programming fluency, including troubleshooting, optimization, and logic interfaces.
- Lean manufacturing and continuous improvement expertise.
- Applied GD&T and engineering drawing literacy.
- ERP proficiency (Epicor or equivalent).
- Knowledge of ISO 9001 or AS9100 quality management systems.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering required; extensive equivalent experience will be considered.
- Advanced degree or professional certifications.
- Metallurgy or materials experience.
- Six Sigma or comparable CI certification.
