The Slot Attendant is responsible for delivering 4-Star/4-Diamond guest service to slot players in an assigned area of the casino. This position assists guests with machine play questions, minor machine malfunctions, and hand-paid jackpots, while ensuring adherence to gaming regulations and internal asset control procedures.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Patrols assigned areas promptly responds to guest requests, machine service lights, and radio dispatch calls.
- Provides 4-Star/4-Diamond service by greeting guests, resolving concerns, and offering timely, courteous assistance.
- Assists guests with change, currency/ticket jams, and general questions about slot play and payouts.
- Processes hand-paid jackpots and vouchers in compliance with Title 31, gaming regulations, and casino policy.
- Ensures all payout documentation is completed accurately and legibly, consistent with signature card standards.
- Adheres to all Tribal Asset Protection procedures, maintaining strict control over assigned asset banks.
- Completes machine entries using assigned Slot Attendant Card and logs all activity in the Machine Entry Authorization Log.
- Performs light-duty machine servicing such as clearing jams, cleaning bill acceptors, and troubleshooting minor issues.
- Notifies Slot Repair Technicians for repairs outside the scope of basic service.
- Reports suspicious behavior, guest disputes, or irregular activity to a supervisor immediately.
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
This position does not have direct supervisory responsibilities but may provide guidance or support to other team members.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Additional coursework in hospitality, customer service, or gaming operations is a plus.
- Minimum of 1–2 years of experience in guest services or a casino floor position, preferably involving slot machine operations.
- Familiarity with basic slot machine functions, ticket-in/ticket-out systems, and hand pay procedures.
- Proven ability to provide prompt, courteous assistance to guests with machine-related questions and issues.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume environment while maintaining attention to detail and professionalism.
- Prior experience in a casino or gaming environment is preferred.
LICENSES, CERTIFICATES, REGISTRATIONS:
Must be able to obtain and maintain a gaming license through the Morongo Gaming Agency, which includes successfully passing a comprehensive background investigation.
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Must be able to read and interpret documents in English, such as instructions, guidelines, policies, and procedures. Must also be able to communicate clearly and effectively with team members, management, and guests.

- Lifting and Carrying: Frequently lifts and carries slot paperwork, coin buckets, promotional items, and supplies weighing up to 30 pounds; may push or pull carts across the casino floor.
- Manual Dexterity: Regularly uses hands and fingers to operate handheld devices, input data, clear machine jams, distribute payout slips, and complete required forms.
- Mobility: Continuously walks, stands, bends, and moves throughout the slot area for extended periods; must be able to respond quickly to service lights and guest needs in a high-traffic environment.
- Stationary Work: Rarely stationary; position requires constant movement throughout designated sections of the casino floor.
- Tool Operation: Frequent use of handheld radios, ticket printers, scanning devices, and other slot-related tools and forms to support machine functions and guest service.
- Visual Acuity: Requires good near and far vision to verify player IDs, review machine displays, complete forms, and visually confirm machine or payout status.
- Working Conditions: Routinely operates on the casino floor in a fast-paced, guest-facing environment; frequent exposure to loud noise, flashing lights, large crowds, and a smoking environment throughout the property.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
This is a dynamic, fast-paced environment that requires the ability to adapt and perform under pressure. The casino operates with moderate to loud noise levels and is a smoking environment, requiring team members to work comfortably in these conditions.
WORKING HOURS:
Morongo Casino Resort & Spa operates 24 hours a day, 365 days a year; therefore, flexibility in scheduling is essential. Team members must be available to work shifts that may include evenings, weekends, holidays, and special events. Schedules are subject to change based on business needs and may include overtime, as well as work on both weekdays and weekends.
