We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer to lead the mechanical discipline for large-scale capital facility expansion projects. You will own the mechanical scope from FEL-2/FEL-3/FEED through detailed design, construction, and commissioning, providing technical leadership to EPC partners, vendors, and cross-functional project teams.
The ideal candidate is a proactive, dependable self-starter who takes ownership, makes sound technical decisions, and drives projects forward with minimal direction. This is a temp to perm opportunity and you will be working in the Atlanta and McDonough facility depading on what the phase of the project is.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead mechanical engineering scope, deliverables, and execution for assigned capital projects.
- Develop FEL-2 scopes and FEL-3/FEED equipment specifications to support project estimates.
- Specify and review static and rotating equipment, including tanks, vessels, pumps, and related systems.
- Establish and ensure compliance with applicable API, ASME, ANSI, regulatory, safety, and company standards.
- Direct and review work from EPC partners, engineering contractors, and equipment vendors, including specifications, datasheets, calculations, drawings, and 3D models.
- Collaborate with Project Management, Process, Electrical, I&C, Piping, CSA, Construction, and Commissioning teams.
- Identify and mitigate mechanical risks while supporting project schedule, cost, quality, and safety objectives.
- Ensure designs consider constructability, operability, maintainability, and reliability.
- Support MOC reviews, PHA action requests, and change orders.
- Develop engineering standards, procedures, and templates to improve consistency and execution across projects.
- Travel to company locations and vendor sites as needed.
Minimum Qualifications
- BS in Mechanical Engineering.
- 7–10+ years of relevant mechanical engineering experience.
- Experience leading mechanical engineering for large capital projects in chemical processing, petrochemical, advanced manufacturing, or similar industries.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical codes and standards, including API, ASME, and ANSI.
- Experience with static and rotating equipment, pumps, vessels, tanks, and piping systems.
- Proven ability to independently lead EPC contractors, engineering partners, and vendors through capital project execution.

Pay: $65.00 - $70.00 per hour
