Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and highly qualified Preschool Special Education Teacher to support the development and learning of young children with diverse needs. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in early childhood education and special education, demonstrating expertise in classroom management, curriculum development, and individualized student support. This role offers an opportunity to make a meaningful impact on children’s lives by fostering inclusive learning environments that promote growth, independence, and social-emotional well-being. The teacher will collaborate closely with families, therapists, and other educational professionals to ensure comprehensive support aligned with each child's Individualized Education Program (IEP) and developmental goals.
Duties
- Plan and implement engaging, developmentally appropriate curricula tailored to meet the unique needs of preschool students with disabilities.
- Manage classroom environments effectively to promote positive behavior, safety, and active participation among children with diverse abilities.
- Conduct assessments to monitor developmental progress and inform instructional strategies, including standardized testing and observational data collection.
- Collaborate with speech therapists, behavioral specialists, occupational therapists, and families to develop and execute individualized intervention plans.
- Integrate learning technology and evidence-based practices such as Applied Behavioral Analysis (ABA) to enhance educational outcomes.
- Support early intervention efforts by identifying developmental delays and implementing targeted strategies for children with autism, hearing impairments, or other disabilities.
- Maintain detailed documentation of student progress, IEP goals, and compliance with educational regulations and standards.
- Facilitate communication with families regarding their child's progress, challenges, and strategies for continued development both at school and home.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education, Special Education, or a related field; a Master’s degree is preferred.
- Valid teaching certification/license for early childhood or special education in accordance with local regulations.
- Proven experience working with preschool-aged children in classroom settings, including those with disabilities or developmental delays.
- Knowledge of childhood development principles, childhood welfare standards, and special education law (including IEP requirements).
- Proficiency in classroom management techniques tailored for students with behavioral health needs and developmental disabilities.
- Experience integrating learning technology tools into lesson planning and instruction.
- Strong communication skills to foster collaboration with families, colleagues, and external specialists.
- Familiarity with curriculum development for literacy education, math, physical education, and Montessori methods is advantageous.
