The Caltrans Division of Procurement and Contracts is looking for a highly motivated Analyst II to join our procurement team. This individual will work under the direction of a Supervisor I. We offer an exciting opportunity to individuals who have excellent customer service, computer, organizational, analytical, and writing skills. This individual will work with employees at all levels in the Department providing consultation, review and analysis of procurement requests and CAL-Card purchases, prepare and obtain approvals on Purchase Orders and contracts. The individual will utilize a wide variety of acquisition methods including, but not limited to, leveraged procurement agreements, Small Business/Disabled Veteran Business Enterprise Option, competitive bidding, California Multiple Award Schedules, emergency, and use of the CAL-Card. The individual provides guidance to CAL-Card Program participants, requestors, supervisors, managers, peers, and vendors. Presentations at procurement fairs and workshops, or training of internal and external customers are also aspects of this position. Some travel may be required. A positive attitude, above average computer skills, and a commitment to building and maintaining strong relationships are integral. Knowledge of California procurement rules and regulations are desirable.

This position may be eligible for telework. The amount of telework is at the discretion of the Department and based on Caltrans’s evolving telework policy. Caltrans supports telework, recognizing that in-person attendance may be required based on operational needs. Employees are expected to be able to report to their worksites with minimum notification if an urgent need arises. The selected candidate will be required to commute to the headquartered location as needed to meet operational needs. Business travel may be required, and reimbursement considers an employee’s designated headquartered location, primary residence, and may be subject to CalHR regulations or applicable bargaining unit contract provisions. All commute expenses to the headquartered location will be the responsibility of the selected candidate.

While at their base of operation, incumbent will work in a climate-controlled office under artificial lighting.
Travel will be required to participate in training/outreach activities both in the Districts and HQ Program areas as needed. Travel may occasionally be overnight. Overtime may occur and vacation restrictions may apply during peak processing times of each year.
Keyboard use is approximately 75% of the time.
