We're Looking for a Strong Floor Manager to Lead Our Evening Service
Wander at Longwoods is a farm-to-table restaurant and event venue on the 54-acre Longwoods Preserve in Cumberland, Maine - just 15 minutes from Portland. We serve seasonally driven, locally sourced menus in a rustic farmhouse dining room and on our landscaped terrace, featuring wood-fired pizzas, handcrafted cocktails, and a beverage program rooted in Maine producers. We're more than a restaurant - and we're looking for a leader to match. We are hiring a full-time Manager on Duty for evening floor management and nightly closing, five days per week, dinner service only.
Schedule: 2:00 PM – 9:30 PM | 5 days per week
Pay: $27.00/hr and up, depending on experience
What You'll Do
- Own the floor during dinner service, ensuring smooth guest-focused operations from the moment service begins to the moment the doors close
- Lead, motivate, and support front-of-house team members through each shift - by example, not just by title
- Execute all nightly closing duties: end-of-shift reporting, cash handling, POS reconciliation, and facility walkthrough
- Respond to guest concerns promptly and professionally
- Monitor pacing, table turns, and floor flow - communicating proactively with the kitchen throughout service
- Partner with ownership on scheduling, team performance, and service improvements
- Step into any role needed - no task is beneath a great leader
What You Bring
- Proven experience leading in a restaurant or hospitality setting
- Calm, clear communication and sound decision-making under pressure
- A genuine guest-first mindset and high standards for service
- Comfort with POS systems, cash handling, and closing reporting
- Ability to lift up to 40 lbs, navigate stairs, and be on your feet for a full shift
- Reliable transportation to our Cumberland location
- Availability for a consistent 5-day evening schedule including weekends
