Job Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Personal Care Assistant to provide essential support to individuals in need of assistance with daily living activities in Suwanee, Gwinnett County. This is a 4 hours morning shift Monday to Friday. The ideal candidate will have experience in caregiving such as home care environments. This role requires a commitment to enhancing the quality of life for residents and clients, ensuring their comfort and safety while promoting independence.
Duties
- Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) including bathing, dressing, grooming, and meal preparation.
- Provide personal care services tailored to individual needs, including medication reminders and monitoring vital signs.
- Support individuals with developmental disabilities and those requiring memory care or dementia care.
- Engage residents in social activities to promote mental stimulation and emotional well-being.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of living spaces to ensure a safe environment.
- Document care provided using EMR systems and communicate effectively with healthcare teams.
- Drive clients to appointments or community activities as needed.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Reliable transportation and valid driver’s license (a reliable car with proof of insurance/registration).
- Ability to pass a background check and drug screening.
- Previous experience in senior care, long-term care, or home & community care is preferred.
- Familiarity with first aid procedures and behavior management techniques.
- Ability to work effectively with individuals with disabilities, including Alzheimer's patients and those requiring memory care (preferred).
- Strong interpersonal skills with a focus on compassion and empathy.
- Knowledge of cleaning protocols and maintaining hygiene standards in personal care settings.
- Compassionate, reliable, and committed to client dignity.
- CNA/PCA certification is a plus but not required.
- Have or willing to acquire CPR/First Aid certification and evidence of a negative Tuberculosis (TB) test
