We are seeking a dynamic and proactive Hospital Safety Coordinator to lead and coordinate safety initiatives across our healthcare facility. Duties
- Develop and oversee hospital safety policies and procedures aligned with industry standards and government regulations.
- Lead emergency response planning, including hazard mitigation, contingency planning, and incident management strategies.
- Coordinate emergency management activities such as drills, training sessions, and preparedness procedures for staff and volunteers.
- Manage volunteer programs related to safety initiatives, ensuring proper training and engagement.
- Conduct public speaking engagements to educate staff and community members on safety protocols and health emergencies.
- Write grant proposals to secure funding for safety programs, equipment upgrades, or community outreach efforts.
- Collaborate with government agencies and emergency responders to ensure seamless incident command system (ICS) coordination during crises.
- Utilize Microsoft Office tools for report writing, data analysis, program development, and documentation of safety activities.
- Lead team management efforts by supervising safety personnel, fostering leadership development, and promoting a culture of safety excellence.
- Perform hazard assessments, incident investigations, and incident command operations to mitigate risks effectively.
- Implement emergency response procedures that enhance hospital resilience during various scenarios such as natural disasters or security threats.
Experience
- Proven experience in emergency management or hospital safety coordination within a healthcare environment.
- Demonstrated leadership skills with experience managing teams or volunteer groups in high-pressure situations.
- Strong public speaking abilities to effectively communicate safety messages to diverse audiences.
- Experience in grant proposal writing to support safety initiatives or community health programs.
- Familiarity with government agency regulations related to healthcare safety standards and compliance requirements.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) for reporting and program development tasks.
- Background in emergency response planning, incident management systems (ICS), hazard mitigation strategies, and contingency planning.
- Knowledge of public health principles relevant to hospital operations and community safety efforts.
- Ability to coordinate multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail and meeting deadlines.
