We are looking for 1 full-time HIM Technician. The HIM Technician will be responsible for answering calls, pulling and filing back records, filing transcribed reports, filing of loose sheets, assembly and analysis of discharge records, concurrent review of record during patient stay, filing transcribed reports during EHR downtime. In addition, the HIM Technician will review physician’s documentation and data collection for quality improvement; review requests for records and release of records under supervision of HIM supervisor; and assist physicians with their incomplete and delinquent records.
Qualifications:
Preferred Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT)
Two (2) years’ medical record experience in an acute care setting
Detail oriented with working knowledge of hospital computer systems
Cerner EHR experience preferred
Medical Terminology knowledge preferred
Knowledgeable in HIPAA Privacy
Placement in the pay range is based on multiple factors including, but not limited to, relevant years of experience and qualifications. In addition to base pay, there may be additional compensation available for College Medical Center roles, including but not limited to shift differential and other special pay practices, etc. The posted compensation for the position is a reasonable estimate that extends from the lowest to the highest pay that College Medical Center in good faith believes it might pay for this particular job, based on the circumstances at the time of posting.
