DESCRIPTION OF WORK
This position supports employer registration and account maintenance by reviewing submissions, identifying issues, and ensuring accurate records for internal and external use. As an Unemployment Compensation Tax Technician, you will perform the following duties:
- Registration Review: Process registration documents and update employer records with accuracy
- Data Evaluation: Examine record matches to identify duplicates or related entities and apply proper updates
- Compliance Actions: Carry out compliance tasks related to UC Law and communicate with employers as needed
- Account Updates: Apply changes to account details such as addresses, ownership, and activation status
- Report Preparation: Prepare production reports documenting completed actions
- Issue Resolution: Investigate data failures and complete corrective actions including customer contact
Work Schedule and Additional Information:
- Full-time employment
- Work hours are 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with 30-minute lunch.
- Hours may vary based on operational needs.
- Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time, up to three days per week. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg. The ability to telework is subject to change at any time. REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- Successful completion of the Unemployment Compensation Tax Technician Trainee program
- (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
- Two years of experience in maintaining financial records, bookkeeping, tax preparation, or clerical accounting; or
- An equivalent combination of experience and training.
