Position Overview
Are you an organized, detail-oriented leader who takes pride in creating a welcoming environment? La Quinta Inn & Suites in Fargo, ND, is looking for a Housekeeping Supervisor to join our team.
In this role, you will be the backbone of our guest satisfaction, ensuring that our rooms, public spaces, and amenities consistently meet and exceed Wyndham’s brand standards. You will directly oversee, train, and support our dedicated team of room attendants and house persons, turning a busy hotel operation into a smooth, efficient machine.
Key Responsibilities
- Team Leadership & Training: Train, mentor, and motivate the housekeeping staff. Establish daily room assignments and conduct pre-shift meetings to align the team on daily goals, VIP arrivals, and occupancy levels.
- Quality Assurance: Conduct meticulous daily inspections of guest rooms (including checkout, stayover, and deep-clean rooms), hallways, lobby, and public areas to ensure compliance with La Quinta quality, sanitation, and safety standards.
- Inventory & Cost Control: Monitor and manage inventory levels for linens, cleaning chemicals, and guest amenities. Assist management in ordering supplies while keeping waste to a minimum.
- Operational Efficiency: Coordinate closely with the Front Desk team regarding room readiness, early check-ins, and special requests. Log maintenance issues immediately into the hotel's tracking system.
- Hands-On Support: Lead by example. During peak periods, high occupancy, or understaffing, jump in to clean rooms, restock carts, or assist with laundry operations to ensure the team hits its deadlines.
- Guest Relations: Address and resolve guest complaints regarding room cleanliness or amenities swiftly and professionally, ensuring a positive resolution before departure.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Experience: Minimum of 1–2 years of housekeeping experience in a hotel or hospitality environment. Previous supervisory or team-lead experience is highly preferred.
- Attention to Detail: A sharp eye for cleanliness and presentation—you notice the small details that others might miss.
- Communication Skills: Strong verbal communication skills to effectively direct staff and interact professionally with guests and management. Bilingual skills (English/Spanish or other languages) are a major plus.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to lift up to 30–50 pounds, stand and walk for extended periods, and perform physical tasks including bending, kneeling, and reaching.
- Scheduling Flexibility: Availability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays, as hotel occupancy dictates.
