Role Description
The Senior Accountant will support the Finance department by managing regular accounting tasks including accounts receivable, month-end reporting, account reconciliations, journal entries, while providing key FP&A support to drive financial performance.
This position reports to the CFO and is a key member of the Finance team. Due to the critical nature of this position, this individual needs to have a high degree of professionalism and maintain confidentiality.
Many traditional accounting tasks have been streamlined and automated and we are looking for someone who is system savvy and will continue our path of process improvement.
Key competencies include being well-versed in accounting principles, excellent analytical, organizational, and technical skills to contribute to the overall operational efficiency. The person should have a strong command of MS Word, Excel (vlookup, pivot, filters etc.), PowerPoint, and Outlook. Experience with NetSuite-ERP and Salesforce-CRM is preferred.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
Operational Finance
· Manage revenue accounting and reporting
· Process customer invoices, perform dunning
· Post journal entries, analyze accounting transactions to ensure proper classification
· Act as liaison for Corporate HQ reporting, ensuring all monthly and quarterly financial packages meet global standards and deadlines.
· Manage travel and expense reimbursements through the Expensify system, ensuring compliance with company policy.
· Serve as the designated back-up for critical tasks, including Close Management, Payroll, VAT or Sales Tax during peak periods or absences.
Financial Planning & Analysis, Budgeting
· Partner with the CFO in FP&A and Budgeting initiatives
· Provide insightful reporting of financial results to senior leadership to drive decision-making
· Perform monthly variance analysis
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in finance or accounting; MBA or Professional Certification (CPA or equivalent) preferred.
- 5+ years of experience in a full-cycle accounting role, preferably in a mid-sized business environment.
- Proficiency with Oracle/NetSuite ERP, Salesforce, Expensify, Square, MS Office
- Excellent communication skills, including verbal and written. Ability to ‘tell the story’ behind the numbers to management.
- Exceptional organizational skills and able to prioritize work independently.
- Strong analytical acumen and reporting skills: ability to switch between granular data entry and high-level strategic thinking.
- Deadline-oriented, task focused and can maintain a high level of confidentiality.
- Quality-oriented with exceptional attention to Detail.
- Ability to deliver timely and accurate products in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
- Maintains a focus on process improvement.
Physical Requirements (heavy lifting, ability to work in a laboratory, etc.):This position involves working in and moving around an office environment. It involves extensive use of computer and telephone in an environment with some background noise.
