Centre County (Philipsburg, PA) medical clinic seeking a compassionate, forward-thinking Nurse Practitioner with a passion for Primary Care and Pain Management.
What You Do:
As a Primary Care & Pain Nurse Practitioner you would be responsible for assessing, diagnosing, and developing a treatment plan for individuals to establish goals and help diagnose conditions by:
- Peforming physical examinations of patients to evaluate health and diagnose illnesses
- Ordering and peforming diagnostic tests, such as x-rays and laboratory tests
- Determining, planning, and initiating appropriate treatment, and adjusting treatment, if necessary
- Prescribing and dispensing medications
- Documenting medical information of patients and maintaining electronic medical records
- Educating, instructing, and counseling patients and families on presenting health problems, treatment plans, and home care, and encouraging and promoting preventative health care and positive health behaviors
- Requesting consultations or referrals with other health care providers, such as physicians and clinics
- Actively maintaining knowledge of current medical research and trends, and supporting research projects
Qualifications:
· Graduate Degree from an accredited Nursing School
· Prefer (1) year experience as a Nurse Practitioner
- In good standing with the appropriate board and insurance entities
- Ability to answer questions regarding the continuum of services within medication management, wellness services, outpatient care
