Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and friendly Customer Service Associate / Cashier to join our team. In this role, you will be the first point of contact for our customers, providing exceptional service and ensuring a positive shopping experience. Your responsibilities will include processing transactions, assisting customers with inquiries, and promoting products through effective upselling techniques. This position requires strong communication skills and a passion for delivering outstanding customer service.
Responsibilities
- Greet customers warmly and assist them in locating products within the store.
- Process customer transactions accurately using the Point of Sale (POS) system.
- Handle cash and credit transactions with precision, ensuring all cash handling procedures are followed.
- Provide product demonstrations and information to enhance customer understanding and satisfaction.
- Engage in upselling techniques to promote additional products and services to customers.
- Maintain a clean and organized checkout area while ensuring shelves are stocked and displays are appealing.
- Address customer inquiries or concerns promptly, providing solutions or directing them to the appropriate personnel.
- Collaborate with team members to achieve sales goals and enhance overall store performance.
Experience
- Previous experience in retail sales or customer service is preferred but not required.
- Strong basic math skills for accurate cash handling and transaction processing.
- Familiarity with retail math concepts is advantageous.
- Excellent phone etiquette for handling customer inquiries over the phone.
- Experience with supervising or training new employees is a plus.
- Ability to conduct product demos effectively to engage customers.
