Senior Accountant
Job Description
What You Will Do
- Assist with the month-end close process, including journal entries, accruals, balance sheet reconciliations, and preparation of monthly financial statements.
- Manage accounts receivable, including customer invoicing, applying payments, collections, and monitoring aging reports.
- Oversee accounts payable by processing vendor invoices, managing weekly payment runs, and maintaining vendor relationships.
- Process payroll accurately and on time while coordinating payroll-related benefits and compliance activities.
- Support inventory accounting, including month-end inventory valuation, cost of goods sold, and gross margin reporting.
- Assist with sales tax filings and related compliance requirements.
- Support year-end audits and tax preparation by providing documentation and working with external accounting partners.
- Improve and document accounting processes, systems, and internal controls as the company continues to grow.
- Collaborate directly with the Chief Financial Officer on financial reporting, forecasting, and strategic initiatives.

- Delivers accurate and timely monthly financial reporting.
- Maintains organized, accurate accounting records with exceptional attention to detail.
- Successfully manages accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and month-end close responsibilities.
- Demonstrates ownership, accountability, and the ability to work independently in a fully remote environment.
- Identifies opportunities to improve accounting processes and strengthen internal controls.
- Maintains the highest level of confidentiality and professionalism when handling sensitive financial information.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (required).
- Three or more years of progressive accounting experience, including hands-on month-end close (required).
- Strong proficiency with QuickBooks Online and Microsoft Excel (required).
- Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities while meeting deadlines in a remote work environment.
- Experience with LeafLink and Dutchie (preferred).
- Cannabis industry experience (preferred).
- CPA or active CPA candidate (preferred).

Compensation
- Salary: $80,000 to $95,000 annually, based on experience.
Work Location
Remote (United States)
- Fully remote position. Candidates must reside within the United States. Applicants from any U.S. time zone are welcome.
- Full-time schedule, Monday through Friday during standard business hours, with occasional additional hours during month-end close and other peak periods.
- Reports directly to the Chief Financial Officer.
Pay: $80,000.00 - $95,000.00 per year
