Position Summary
First Parish Kingston seeks a creative and organized part-time Communications Coordinator (CC) to promote the programs and events of the congregation within the broader community. The CC serves an average of five (5) hours per week. Work can be done primarily offsite, though attendance at church events with some regularity is desired, to get to know us and help us share our values with the world.
This position is a new addition to the staff team at First Parish, so the CC will be taking on duties and roles that are currently shared by a few existing staff positions. Responsibilities
o Directly manage social media presence – devise and implement strategies for regular content postings on Facebook and Instagram (and other social media outlets, in consultation with the Minister).
o Content includes information about weekly worship services, church events & social justice work, reels from recorded services and events, photos, content from the larger UUA and any other content that is consistent with our UU values.
o Manage the Church’s Squarespace website, helping to fully utilize aspects of the website, including blog features, announcements, etc.
o Manage the congregation’s YouTube page – editing and uploading weekly service recordings and other shareable recordings.
o Creation and curation of video/photo content for online sharing in collaboration with staff and church members as appropriate, including, but not limited to social media, church website and via monthly and weekly newsletters.
o Seek creative and inventive ways to share our church mission and Unitarian Universalist values through the wider world.
Pay: $25.00 per hour
